Trou-du-Nord Comes Alive for the Lucia Lamour Foundation 5K!
Heading 1
What an incredible day in Trou-du-Nord!
The Lucia Lamour Foundation 5K Marathon was a spectacular celebration of youth, sports, community, and unity! From the very first step to the thrilling finish, the streets were alive with excitement as hundreds of people came out to cheer, clap, record videos, and encourage our young athletes.
The energy was unbelievable!
From early morning, a mobile DJ energized the community while teams worked tirelessly to prepare the streets, water stations, tents, and race route. Athletes arrived, received their race numbers, boarded the buses, and headed to the starting line—ready to make history!
And then... GO!
The runners took off as the crowds erupted with cheers. Every street became a celebration, with spectators encouraging the athletes all the way to the finish line.
After an incredible 18 minutes and 40 seconds, the winner crossed the finish line! Congratulations to the first seven finishers and to the first female athlete, who finished 8th overall and earned two prizes for her outstanding performance!
A special round of applause goes to Ms. Wilnise Noel, whose tireless dedication was instrumental in bringing this event to life. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to FHAA, the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, Father Bernard, Father Djeny, Mrs. Majorie Guerrier and the coaches, the journalists, Ing. This was more than a race. It was a celebration of what is possible when a community comes together.
Trou-du-Nord showed up. Our athletes showed up. And together, we made history!
🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♂️ Together, we inspired a generation. Together, we created memories. Together, we proved that unity can make extraordinary things happen.
Next year? We’re going BIGGER, BETTER, and EVEN MORE SPECTACULAR!
